Celebration Of Jubilee
Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH. Febriifir.v 14. One of the largest gatherings of Roman Catholic clergy yet to visit Christchurch will be in the city for the celebration of the jubilee of the Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt. Rev. Dr. M. J. Brodie, which is to be celebrated this month, beginning on February 23. The three otlnq- New Zealand Bishops will be present, headed by the Metropolitan of New Zealand, the Most Rev. Dr. T. O’Shea. In addition about eight Monsignors and more than 40 priests from the other three dioceses have notified their intention of coming to Christchurch. Tlie jubilee is regarded by lite Catholic Churcli in New Zealand as of importance historically for it will be the first: episcopal jubilee celebrated by ;i New Zealand-born Bishop.
