It is announced that 400 wives and dependants of United Slates soldiers in the Philippines are returning to the United States within a week on board tt transport. It is understood that, six other army transports are on the way to Manila bringing supplies and also reserve officers.' It is believed lhal tllby will be used to evacuate several hundred other dependants. A new reserve of officers is needed iu connexion with the Philippine army. An announcement has been mailej’liHing up reserve officers on March 17 for n fortnight's intensive instruction.
