Many Planes Destroyed On
The Ground
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 11.
Highly successful bombing operations against the Island of Rhodes are recorded in an R.A.F. (Middle East) communique, which states: “Heavy bombers again attacked Calato (Rhodes) and dropped several tons of bombs on the aerodrome and dispersed-aircraft round it. Buildings and aircraft were seen to be ablaze, and it is confirmed that 10 aircraft were destroyed and others damaged. “All our aircraft returned.’’
