A request that, the manager and engineer. Mr. A. E. Ford, should go into the question of getting drill cloth for tramwaymen’s uniforms for use during the hot weather was made by Captain R. S. Judson. V.C.. al a meeting of the Auckland Transport Board this week. Captain Judson said the men were feeling the heat in the heavy serge uniform, which had to be buttoned up to the chin. The chairman. Mr. W. H. Nagle, said the men had an alternative uniform for Ibe hot weather, but Captain Judson considered this was just, as uncomfortable. He said some drill materials cost only 1/3 a yard.
