Election Of Officers
At the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the Royal Society of St. George last night, the president, Air. J. E. Hunt, stressed the need for strengthening the society in Wellington. Though an additional 99 persons had joined during the year, bringing the total membership to 300, Air. Hunt said there was an obvious lack of interest by leading business men in the city. It was the task of tlie present members, he said, to gain the interest of these people in the work of the society.
The annual report and balance-sheet were presented and adopted. The secretary, Mr. S. K. Thompson, congratulated tlie women’s patriotic committee on its work during the year. Election of oilicers resulted as follows: Patron, the Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. 11. St. Barbe Holland; president, Air. J. E. Hunt, J.P.: vice-presidents, Alessrs. Byron-Brown and Hustler Smith; secretary. Air. S. K. Thompson; assistant secretary. Miss Thompson; treasurer. Mr. G. F. Whitehorn ; auditor. Mr. W. .1. Mountjoy : members of the council, Messrs. J. C. Bleehynden, E. W. Moore. A. King. 11. H. Westwood. V. E. Bradstoek, Alesdames W. G. Levick, S. K. Thompson, Al. E. Webb, C. G. Bloore, C. A. King.
