ROBERT PARKER PRIZE
Award To Dorothy Downing
Miss Dorothy Downing, the gifted young Wellington pianist and teacher, has been awarded the Robert Parker Memorial Prize, offered by the Music Teachers’ Registration Board. This prize was open to all registered teachers, or their pupils, throughout New Zealand who desire to proceed to the degree of musical bachelor of the University of New Zealand.
The prize, which is tenable for two years, is awarded to the candidate who has shown the most outstanding ability in some recognized branch of instrumental or vocal music.
Miss Downing lias already passed 'in two subjects of the degree, having taken mathematics and acoustics as a student of Victoria University College.
