Cordell Hull And Lord

WASHINGTON, February 10.

Following an hour's talk with the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, the British Ambassador, Lord Halifax, said that Mr. Hull and he had exchanged information on events in all parts of the world, adding that he intended to pursue a series of conversations with Mr. Hull every few days. It is assumed from this that the discussions included the Far East.

In reply to a question, Lord Halifax admitted that the sending of food to unoccupied France was discussed, and he recalled that Lord Lothian had defined the British position. Lord Halifax added: “The first responsibility lies with the Germans to return the food they looted.” Mr. Hull told the Press that he bad listened with special interest to Mr. Churchill's speech. Asked whether assurances bad been given to Britain that she would get. supplies to “finish the job,” he said the United States would provide the maximum of military supplies for both the United States and Britain.
