Woman Dead, Husband And Daughters In Hospital
THOUGHT TO BE RESULT OF EATING PIPIS |,By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 6. Mrs. Mabel Cowman was found dead at her home about 10.50 a.m. today. Her husband, Mr. Norman Cowman, was admitted to Christchurch Public Hospital at 3.15 p.m. suffering from poisoning, and two daughters. Nol.l, aged eight years, and Shirley, aged three years, were admitted to hospital at 4.30 p.m., also suffering from poisoning. It is believed that Mrs. Cowman’s death and the condition of the husband and daughters was caused by eating pipis.
An inquest has been opened into the death of Mrs. Cowman and a postmortem examination ordered. The condition of those in hospital is satisfactory.
