FISHERMAN’S FIND
Mine Off Victorian Coast
MELBOURNE, February -I. Navy Office officials were informed today that a fisherman off the \ ietoriun coast, feeling a tug on his line, jerked it vigorously ami brought a mine to the surface a few feet from his boat. The man notified other fishermen nearby and all sailed their boats to the shore. The mine also floated inshore and was exploded by minesweepers in the vicinity. Navy officials said that the mine had apparently broken adrift in recent bad weather from a minefield the position of which was known. There was no cause for alarm.
