Sale Of Tickets For Yearling Colt
A progress report dealing with the art union for the disposal of the thoroughbred yearling colt War. Effort, by Siegfried from Kippet Lee, in aid of patriotic funds shows that to date tickets to the approximate value of £ll5O have been sold. The colt was presented to the National Patriotic Fund Board by Mr. 11. A. Smith, Te Manuiri, Waipawa, and was named War Effort by Viscount Galway, chairman of the board. Tickets are being sold principally through the racing clubs at race meetings. The progress report deals with 23 returns, and of these the Wellington Racing Club’s figures of £375 are easily the best. There are still another 13 race meetings to be held aud at. which tickets will be sold before Hie closing date. February 21.
