YOUTH SEVERELY BURNT
Tried To Carry Tin Of Burning Petrol
Dominion Special Service. GREYTOWN, February 5. Severe burns were received by a youth, Kelvin Thompson, Kuratawhiti Street, Greytown, when fire broke out last night in a building used as a storeroom by Mr. F. Dennee in Main Street, Greytown. A tin containing petrol ignited, and Thompson attempted to remove it. In doing so he received burns on the head and chest, and when he could hold the tin no longer, he dropped it, and the burning liquid splashed over him. His clothes were partly burnt off. He was removed to Greytown Public Hospital, and his condition tonight was stated to be satisfactory.
The flames from the outbreak spread to the roof of the building, but were extinguished before any serious damage was done.
