WORKING MEN’S CLUB PICNIC

The annual picnic of the Wellington 77’orking Men’s Club and Literary Institute was held on Sunday, when, tn ideal weather, about 000 members, their wives and children, together with a few invited guests, journeyed to Hutt Park by special train. All the arrangements were capably- carried out by the picnic ards, Messrs. J. A. G. Mackay. K. R. Rigby and H. J. Shanks, and at; energetic committee was entrusted with dispensing a liberal supply of fruit, soft drinks, sweets, nnd ice-cream. Each child received a toy. , Keen contests were the order of the day in all lhe races, at the conclusion of which, the club president. Mr. J. A. G. Mackay, presented lhe prizes to tlie winners nnd runners-up of the various events. The principal races resulted as follows:—Boys under 1(5: Bob Smith. 1: Murray Yates. 2.
