An expert investigation into the best method of drying foodstuffs for export lias been ordered by the Federal Government. Particular .attention is to be devoted to eggs and milk. The Assistant Minister of Commerce, Mr. Hubert Anthony, announced that a Brisbane engineer, Mr. lan Stewart, has been commissioned to make the investigation. He will open a conference here with representatives of the industries on Wednesday. Mr. Anthony said the investigation had become necessary because of the likelihood of the British Government having to restrict the refrigerated space for eggs, and dried eggs required only about one seventh of the space needed for eggs in the shell. The British Government was also desirous of getting regular consignments of dried milk.
