Relicensing Figures The Postmaster-General, Mr. Webb, said yesterday that 303,602 motorvehicles had been licensed for the current year up to December 31 last, this total being only 2375 (or .77 per cent.) less than that at the corresponding date in 1939. As the decrease at the end of September last, compared with the figures for the previous year was 2.34 per cent., a considerable increase in the relicensing figures for the three months October, November, and December last was revealed by the latest return. The number of ears licensed at the end of December was 212,199, a decrease of 3011 (or 1.1 per cent.), compared with 1939. The commercial vehicle licences, 74,487, were higher by 1469 (or 2 per cent. ) than those for the previous year. The motor-cycle licences, 16,916, showed a decline of 533 (or -1.7 per cent.).
