The Auckland Anglican Diocese authorities are to consider plans for celebrating the call and consecration of George Augustus Selwyn to be first Bishop of New Zealand. The centenary of his consecration in Ltrmbeth Palace Chapel falls on October 17, and Bishop Simkin, in a letter published in the Church Gazette, states that it is hoped to arrange for the Diocesan Synod to meet earlier than usual in order that the clergy may bo in I heir parishes on that dale.
