Potter, AVaiuku, created a big surprise by defeating Aliss Margaret Beverley in the semifinal of the women’s singles, which title the latter had held for four previous years. Miss Potter, however, lost the final to Aliss P. Cooke. Results: — Men’s singles: J. Roach (AVaikato) beat N. F, Bedford, 6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. AVomen’s singles: Aliss Cooke beat Aliss Potter, 6-1, 8-6. Alen’s doubles: J. Roach and D. B. Livingstone (AA’aikato) beat J. C. Charters and L. Roach (AVaikato), 3-6, 4-6. 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. AVomen’s doubles: Misses N. and Al. Beverley (AA’aikato) beat Aliss P. Cooke and Mrs. P. E. Potter. 6-2, 6-2. Combined doubles: J. Roach and Miss Al. Beverley beat R. AV. Smith and Aliss Cooke, 6-1, 8-6.
