PARIS POLICE CHIEF ARRESTED
Supporter Of De Gaulle (Received February 3, 1.50 a.m.) PARIS, February 2. M. Roger Lanceron, Prefect of the Paris Police, has been removed from his post and charged with being a supporter of General de Gaulle. His secretary is said to have been arrested on charges connected with British propaganda, A store of firearms is reported to have been discovered in at least one section of Paris. In Vichy it is understood that Marshal Petain’s new National Council will meet at Clermont Ferrand at the end of the month. The first business will be the nomination of a President, VicePresidents and secretaries by Marshal Petain.
