CHALLENGER FAILS IN FIFTH ROUND
Louis Keeps Boxing Title (Received February 2, 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 31. In the scheduled 15-round match for the world's heavyweight title, the holder, Joe Louis (14st. 611 b.) knocked out Red Burman (13st. 41b.) in tlie fifth round. Smeared with blood, tlie challenger was wilting to the floor from a bard right smash fo the stomach in the fifth round, and as lie fell Louis gave a coup de grace with a left book to the bead. Burinau received an ovation because lie made one of tlie most determined efforts against Louis. He forced tlie fighting, but Louis gave the more damaging punches.
