Ministerial. Mr. G. G. Barclay. Minister of Agriculture. is visiting the South Island. Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, left Wellington on Saturday afternoon for Auckland. He will return to Wellington tomorrow morning. Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P.. is visiting Wellington. .Mr. F. Maurice Clarke, who lias been visiting Auckland, has returned to Wellington. Canon D. J. Davies, of St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, who has been on holiday in Auckland, lias returned to Wellington. Mr. A. J. Stratford, registrar of the Federation of New Zealand Justices, is visiting Wellington for a meeting of the executive of the federation. Mr. N. B. Spencer, president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, is visiting Wellington for a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. L. F. Hartley, formerly a member of the Wellington Fire Brigade, has been appointed superintendent of the lire brigade in New Plymouth, in succession to the late Mr. A. Boon.
