Magistrates’ Court Cases Pleading guilty to a charge of trespassing on his wife’s dwelling in Thorndon Quay during the currency of a separation order, Phillip Austin Selwyn, labourer, aged 53, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment 'by Mr. Stout,-S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, on Saturday morning. Senior-Sergeant G. Paine said Selwyn had 'been before the Court several times for the same class of offence. He had been in jail several times, and as soon as he was released he would visit his wife's home and would not move when 'asked to do so. Sievwright said the ear was parked on a taxi stand and Walker mistook it for a taxi. Walker admitted that he was drunk at the time. On a charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. A fine of £2, in default of four days Imprisonment, was imposed on \ ivian Leslie Fizelle, labourer, aged 27. for behaving in a disorderly manner while drunk in Cuba Street. He was also convicted on a charge of damaging a car in which the police were taking him to the Police Station, and was ordered to make good the damage, amounting to 12/G. For failing to declare the mileage run by a producer gas-driven car in July, September and October hist, W. R. Bradley was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Pleading guilty, Bradley said that lie thought that experimental gas-driven ears were not subject to taxation. Having no speedometer on his ear. he would not sign the mileage declaration required. He had paid the tax owing, plus 100 per eent., which amounted to 9/10.
