WEDDING
Hill —Jqckson A pretty wedding of Palmerston North and district interest took place • recently at St. Patrick’s Church, Palmerston North, when Edna Agnes, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr, Percy Jacksou, was married to John Charles, younger son of the late Mr, and Mrs, C IV. Hill, Christchurch. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor MacManus. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. L. Joyce, Eltham, was iu a charming gown of ivory french satin, the shoulders shirred to form tr draped neckline and from the back of the bodice, also shirred, fell a graceful train. Her veil was caught to the top of the head with a spray of velvet; gardenias aud formed a second train, aud she wore the bridegroom’s gift of a pearl necklace. Arum lilies formed her bouquet. The bridesmaid was Miss Joan Jackson, sister of the bride, who was in a frock of old gold taffeta with square neckline finished with a wide double collar and having a bustle back. Her tulle headdress and. bouquet of roses were in toning gold shades. Mr. D. O’Connor, Tauranga, was best man. As the bride was leaving the church site was presented with a lucky horseshoe bv her niece, Margaret Joyce. A reception was held later in the Rosco tearooms, the wedding cake, made by the bride, being much admired. Mrs. Jackson received the guests, wearing a gown of cherry bark chirrinaine and a black hat. Mrs. Kerrigan, senior, foster-mother of the bridegroom, wore a black marocain frock. The bride travelled in a smart air force blue costume with matching hat and accessories. . Mr. and Mrs. Hill s home is at Fair View, Ashhurst.
