The fat cattle section has drawn keen competition, there being 45 entries for the West Coast (’billed Beef Championship. The judging of this section both ou the hoof and as carcases suitable for export, should prove most interesting. This year the Mannwatu-Oroiia Boys’ and Girls' Calf Club Championship is to be finalized at tlie Fi-ilding Show and some 40 youthful exhibitors will be present with the calves reared'during the past season. The various purebred cattle sections will all be represented with some of the iiuest-bred cattle in ilip Dominion. As usual. Hip purebred sheep sections will present a very fine array of quality sheep'— the Feilding Show is justly famed for the excellence of the sheep exhibited. Entries in the purebred and utility pig classes are not so numerous, though there is good competition in most classes. Exhibitors have come from ns far a field as Taranaki. This year the association is to be honoured by the presence of the British Hi"h Commissioner for the United Kingdom. Sir Harry Batterbee, who has verv kindiv consented to officially open the show at 2.15 p.m. on People’s Day, Wednesday, February 5. It is also hoped that Lady Batterbee will be present.
