CIVIL GUARD
Lyall Bay And Kiibirnie Unit The second weekly parade of the Lyall Bay and Kiibirnie Civil Guard was held on Saturday witli a full at; tendance of members under the supervision of the area commander. Mr. Milt-hell. Elementary fire drill ami physical drill were undertaken for over two hours. Hie men faking a keen interest in their work: so much so. that arrangements have been made for further courses in these two activities of Hie guard’s work. Members of the fire-fighting unit will attend a lecture at Hie Const able Street fire brigade station at 7.30 o’clock tomorrow night, and a further afternoon parade will bo held next Saturday al 2.30 o'clock at the tramway barns. This unit of the Civil Guard is showing groat enthusiasm in ils work and steady progress is being made. Endeavours are being made to obtain a large garage for a social Huh. for tlie guard Ims in mind tlie advancement of its social activities as an avenue for keeping its members together.
