CANTERBURY WHEAT MARKET
(B v Telegraph—Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH. January 31. Quantities of wheat from various parts of the province have been received in Christchurch in the last week, Inn otherwise the market is quiet, 'fhe quality of tile wheat is excellent and the yield is generally reported to lie higher limn last Markets for Algerian eased further, prices being 1/- to 2/8 a bushel on trucks. Huns have been poor in quality this season and few changed hands. Ryegrass is still offering freely, but few sales have been made, and prices are unchanged. There have been a few sales of blue hipins and a considerable quantity of while clover, of which there are large crops) of good quality, lias been sold. Little chaff lias been available, and sales have been few. There is practically no old season's available, and no new chafT will be ready for about a monlii. A few sales of new season's Red Dakotas and white potatoes have been made. Sales have been on the basis of £3 to £3/10/- a lon on trucks for May, June and July delivery.
