CYCLIST KILLED
Hit By Train On Crossing Dominion Special Service. NAPIER, December 30. A collision between a bicycle and a train at a Napier level crossing resulted in the cyclist receiving extensive injuries from which he later died, lie was: — Mr. Eli Astwood, aged 50, carpenter, Greenmeadows. The rear of the cycle was struck by the train, Mr. Astwood being thrown clear of the track. The train was brought to a standstill and several nurses and a soldier who were passengers gave first-aid till be was removed to hospital in an ambulance.
