BLAZE IN HAVELOCK NORTH
National Party Organizer Loses Home Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, December 29. Fire completely destroyed the home of Mr. Robert Tapper, Havelock North, organizer of the National Parly in the district, early yesterday morning, the occupants having only time to escape in I heir night al tire with a few clothes ami a little bedding. The building was of modern wooden construction. When the Havelock North Volunteer Fire Brigade received rhe call at about I a.in. it was nimble to do anything Io save the building, which was milside the town district area where there was no waler supply. Jr is thought that, the fire had its origin in the kitchen. Tim flames litreatmied a molor garage, two motorcars and a sited full of hay, but Ihe efforts of the brigade with buckets were successful in saving these.
