Dominion Special Service HASTINGS, December 30. The final gallops for the Hawke’s Bay .summer fixture on Wednesday saw most candidates in good order. Isis, Indian Slin, Sunny Knight, Authoress and Roeon pleased most. Indian Suu and Isis commenced operations by setting 50} for the half-mile, time which was not bettered. Sunny Knight, practically recovered from a recent cold, pleased by returning 63 1-5 for five furlongs. His juvenile halfbrother, Silver Ball, showed speed to record 37 1-5 for three furlongs. Myrna Loy, a promising maiden, pleased exceedingly when holding Ashaboy safe throughout four furlongs, which, because of drifting heavy fog, could not be clocked. Kalika and Elminola did fairly well to return 1.19 for six. a distance comforably completed in 1.19 1-5. Rivertide shaded Liana Tetrix in 51 l-o over half a mile, aud Hugme, pushed along only over the last furlong, returned 65 for five. Uganda had Stolen Coat a measure over three furlongs. The former appeals as an early winner. A solid onee round in 1.421 was credited to The Ring and Master Cyklon. Both caught the eye as fighting fit. Authoress impressed when shading Roeon over six in 1.161. The former will be at her best distance on Wednesday at Hastings. The maiden Skyette. hailing from the same family as the mighty Carbine, drew attention to her possibilities by recording five in 641, when not flat out.
