Well-balanced Fields HORSES IN FORM (By Overcheck.) The Canterbury Park Trotting Club lias received excellent acceptances for the first day of its meeting, which commences tomorrow and will be concluded on Thursday. The principal race, the Canterbury Handicap, has attracted a field of 11 of the best pacers in commission, and the finish promises to be keenly contested. Peter Smith has been showing greatly improved form, and will no doubt again be in strong demand. Dusky Sound and Great Jewel are, however, two likely to bring about his defeat. Horses that are likely to be supported are:— Introductory Handicap—Certissimus, Beta's Own and Royal Parrish. Railway Handicap—Zincali, Trireme and Huguenot.
