OBITUARIES Driver Reynolds was a keen motorist and a well-known service ear driver. He was attached to the 4th Reserve Motor Transport Company and left with the First Echelon. He was a son of Mrs. Reynolds, of Lyall Bay. ami the late Mr. W. Reynolds (well known in business and, hi his younger days, as a leading cyclist), <iml was an old boy of 'Wellington College. Much of his early life was spent at Eastbourne. He was of a very likeable disposition, and, with a keen sense of duty, lie was. quick to answer the cull to service. Much sympathy will be felt for his relatives, who include, lit addition to his mother, a sister (Mrs. Annabell, Daniievil’ke), a brother (Mr. Vince Reynolds, 'Wellington), and the Dentice family, of Wellington. Sergeant, Gunner Peters, who was in his twentieth year, before enlisting with tlie Royal New Zealand Air Force shortly after the outbreak of the war was engaged in fanning, being hi the employ of Mr. IV. N. Russell, Mangatoro. He received his training at Levin and Oliakea, and left New Zealand for England on August 10 last. He was educated at. Dannevirke South School and Dannevirke High School, where he was very popular with his school fellows, lie was a valued member of the Young Farmers’ Club and the Tapuata Golf Club.

Second-Lieu tenant Wallace was the son of Mr. ami Mrs. .1. N. Wallace, Khandallah. He attended the Khaiidalkih School, Wellington College, and Wellesley College, mid left New Zealand with the first, echelon. His father has been a member of the Wellington City Council for several terms.

Driver Appleton is a son ot Mr. and .Mrs. W. Appleton. Wellington. He attended Roseneath School and Wellington College, and on leaving college in 1931 went farming successively at Levin, Wairoa. and Wanganui. He obtained a diploma in wool-classing at Massey Agricultural College, and when he enlisted was employed by the Victoria Laundry Co., Ltd. He left New Zealand with the first echelon. He has three brothers 1 , Bruce (Wanganui), Alistair, a sergeant in the First Hawke's’ Bay Regiment, and Lloyd, and a sister. Rose Marie.
