Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today General situation. —Pressure has been rising rapidly in the south ami is iw" high over the whole of the New Zealand area aud the Tasman Sea. Forecast.—Winds; Moderate to fresh winds from between west and south becoming general tonight and decreasing tomorrow. Seas (N.Z. waters).—Rather rough at first about Cook Strait and south ot Dunedin, otherwise slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.-Fresh but decreasing south-westerly winds and slight or moderate seas. Weather—A few isolated showers but weather mainly fair to fine with mild to warm temperatures. WELLINGTON DISTRICT’ FORECAST UP TO 6 P.M. TODAY.-Moderate southerly winds predominating.
