Balches. story books, stamps. felt, wood-fibre flowers, picture books and, comics were- some of the things which had been crammed into this year’s Sunshine Bo,v. Rose Dreams, Eketahuna. had made a friendly gollywog with a- knitted skin and frin.gey hair; Bushranger, Fcilding, sent a small doll in a woolly dress; Snowlop, Seatoun, contributed lots of old comics, and Jasmine brought in a well-planned scrapbook. Though scrapbooks arc the easiest entries to contribute to Sunshine Box, many members think that because they enjoy sticking any sort of picture- here and there, that is sufficient. Jasmine’s book was particularly interesting because she had thought about the boys and girls who would be spending long hours indoors and needing something to read. Its pages had been decorated with the kind of pictures and stories and poems that made Kiwi want to look twice and then settle down- among the parcels for the afternoon. But Postie began to get- impatient, and the other occupants of Sunshine Box were clamouring to be hurried into their brown paper jackets. Toe Dancer, Wellington, had taken, infinite care with her dressed doll. There was a flat box containing the most detailed of wardrobes. A pair ot slippers to fit tiny celluloid toes; sets of shoes—

even two fashionable sandals; feathery hats and- cleverly sewn costumes went to make up this very novel collection. And from Rose Elf, Masterton, came a brown paper picture-book with arranged pages and a binding of green raw a. All the members mentioned p here receive a star point each. Happy hours to each of you!
