Miss Joan Dear, New Plymouth, has returned to New Zealand after three years sitent in the study of speech therapy in London and New York. Miss Dear is staying at the Hotel St. George, Wellington, and will return home on Tuesday. Mrs. M. H. Gunn, Hobson Crescent, Wellington, is spending a holiday in Napier as the guest of her sister, Mrs. N. W. Abbott. Mr. and Mrs. Andersen Tyrer, London, arrived at ’Wellington yesterday after a visit to the South Island. Mrs. D. Allan and Miss B. Allan returned to Wellington from the south yesterday. Mrs. R. M. Macfarlane, Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from the south. Mrs. S. O. English will return to Auckland today from a visit to Invercargill and Otago. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Herrick arrived at ’Wellington yesterday from the south, Miss Jocelyn Walker, ’Wellington, who took part in the British Music Society's concert at Feilding this week, was the guest while there of Mrs. M. Andrews. Miss Dorothy Davies, also a Wellington performer, stayed with Mrs. H. C. D. Somerset. Madame Greta Ostova, Czechoslovakian 'cellist, was the guest of Mrs. L. M. T. Wotton, Feilding, for the concert of the British Music Society this week.
