Yesterday’s Quotations WELLINGTON EXCHANGE The latest buying .and selling quotations recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange were as follows:—

Gold Mining Returns Whites Electric dredge: 30 ounces from 10,200 cubic yards in 134 hours. Argo dredge: 20 ounces trom 12,000 cubic yards in 133 hours. . . Austral-New Zealand Mining, Ltd., has advised the Stock Exchange. Association of the following production figures lor the half month ending August la. Lays working, 13; hours working, 246; yards dug, 130,000; bullion recovered, JU .Buiolo Gold Dredging, Ltd., reports that for the month of July the total gross production amounted to 20,032 ounces of bullion containing 13,822 ounces of fine gold from 1,345,000 cubic yards. Estimated working profit, 6788 ounces fine gold. Dredge No. 7, which was being overhauled, did not operate during the month. . ’ . „ , Alexander Mines, Ltd., issues the following report for the week ended August 15. —No. 6 intermediate solid stope drive north: Driven to a point, of the face pt die intermediate level. The face shows stone 78in. in width and appears to be making again underfoot. The stoping length of this block to date is 103 feet of clean solid ore. On the south of No. 2 rise a solid stope is being driven 96in. above No. 6 level on stone averaging 12in. in width. This width should improve when the lode is stoped upward. Stoping on the second stope above No. 6 intermediate, the lode is 42in. wide, but should improve in width when, the stope is carried northward. No. 5 intermediate stopes: These are being worked with two men, the lode showing no change. Sixtyfive tons of ore has been sent to battery for week. Mortgages Ajid Land. Transfers Mortgage registrations during -June numbered 1898 for a total value of £1,611,838, the highest monthly value since September of last year, reports the Monthly Abstract of Statistics. Registrations in May numbered 1999 for an aggregate value of £1,493,091, and in June, 1939, 2277, the value being £1,882,'169. .Some 2143 mortgages, representing £1,467,296 in value, were discharged during June, comparative figures for May, 1940, and June, .1.939, being 2048 and 2081 in. number and £1,380,781 anti £1.534,089 in value respectively. Land transfers registered during June numbered 2305 for a total monetary consideration of £2,432,857, a decrease of 34.-1 in number-but an increase of £396,996 in consideration as compared with the totals for May. Comparative figures for June. 1939, were 2965 and £2,306.006 for number and consideration respectively.
