PACIFIC AIR SERVICE

No Passengers On First Flights

NEW YORK, July 2.

The Pan-American Airways flyingboat will carry no passengers to New Zealand on the first two trips. The commander on the Hight commencing on July 12 will be Captain John IL Tilton, and the first, officer Captain R. J. Nixon, both of whom participated in the survey Hights. Already 100,000 first-flight covers are waiting at San Francisco, and 25.000 more are expected before the closing day on July 10.

It is not certain whether the service will carry direct Australian mail. The Bost Office has announced that Australian mail will not be carried, but the company announces that such mail will be carried at 60 cents a half-ounce, compared with 50 cents for letters to New Zealand.

Mr. Harold Gaily will accompany the first flight.
