Democrat Candidate ST. LOUIS, July 2. Mr. Burton Wheeler said that his name would be presented for the Presidential nomination at the Democratic convention whether or not Mr. Roosevelt seeks a third term. Previously Mr. Wheeler was to have been a candidate only if Mr. Roosevelt did not run. The labour leader, Mr. John L. Lewis, endorsed Mr. 'Wheeler’s candidature. CITIZENSHIP LOST American Who Joined Canadian Forces MONTREAL, July 2. A United States board of inquiry has ruled that Philip Stegerer, aged 2G, of Washington, has forfeited bis United States citizenship by joining the Canadian forces on active service, from which he was given an honourable discharge as medically unfit. The board refused to give permission to Stegerer to return to the United States. It is believed that the case is a precedent. by which hundreds of men may be deprived of their citizenship because they have sworn allegiance to the King. ARGENTINE COLLEGE German Services Cease BUENOS AIRES, July 2. The services which have been held at the German Army Mission at tlio Argentine Army College since before the World War of 1014-18 have been suspended. The debt is 42,967.000,000 dollars, which is 2,528,000,000 more than last year and 20,428,000,000 more than in 1033.
