Perry—Spring

A pretty wedding took place recently in the Sacred Heart Church, Eketahuna, when Izabel Alary, only daughter of Air. and Airs. J. Spring, Nireaha, was married to Keith Raymond, only son of Air. and Airs. A. J. Perry, Rongomai. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father E. Sweeney.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a fitting gown of magnolia satin, with long sleeves _ and heart-shaped neckline finished with a stiffened medic! collar. Tlie train was trimmed with orange blossom. The veil, lent by Airs. .Maurice Spring, was held in place with a halo of miniature arum lilies, and formed a second train. Miss .Margaret Murphy, Napier, and Aliss Betty Perry (sister of tlie bridegroom) were the bridesmaids amt were in picture frocks of coral pink net and lace organdie over taffeta with full puffed sleeves and featuring a heart-shaped neck. They wore matching tulle shoulder veils caught on the top of the head with a carnation. Their gold necklaces were the gifts of the bridegroom. Air. Brian Spring, brother of the bride, was best man, and Air. Alervyn Tomlinson was groomsman.

Nearly SO guests were entertained at a' reception in tlie Oddfellows’ Hall. Mrs. Spring received the guests wearing ti smart navy tailored coat over a model frock of burgundy wool marocain with navy accessories. Her hat of peach bloom was trimmed with ostrich tips. She was assisted by Mrs. Perry, who wore a model frock of forest green wool georgette, peaeli bloom hat with matching accessories and u fur stole. Feilding. aunt of the bridegroom, and tlie posies carried by thd bride and bridegroom’s mothers were the gift of Mrs. IL Nordell. Atea The three-tiered wedding cake was made by Mrs. Spring and iced by Mr. J. A. Taylor. For travelling, the bride wore an ensemble of guava self-striped wool georgette, the cape being trimmed _ with black astrakhan and accessories to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Perry’s home will be in Eketahuna. Newman —Denbee Tlie wedding took place at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, of Thelma Winifred, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Denbee, Masterton, and Eric Reginald, eldest sou of Mrs. R. E. Newman, Invercargill. Tlie ceremony was performed by tlie Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich.

The bride was escorted by her father and wore a simply cut gown of ivory embroidered tinsel brocade. Tlie frock had a high neckline and was gathered slightly into the pointed waistline in front and was finished at. the back with a belt. The sleeves, which were full at. the shoulders, tapered to form points over tlie hands. Her only ornament was a string of pearls. The embroidered tulle veil (lent by a friend), which was worn over the face as she entered the church, was held in place by a small bow and a spray of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of chrysanthemums to tone. The bridesmaid, Miss K. Clapshaw (Dannevirke) and Mrs. M. Dassler, sister of the bride, who was matron-of-honour, were gowned alike in ivory stiffened not over ivory satin. Tlie skirts were full and finished at the waist with sashes of clover. They wore matching veils on their heads and fopknots of clover Howers, and carried bouquets to tone. Tlie duties of best, mini were curried out by Mr. Ern Newman (brother of the bridegroom) and Mr George Jones (Christchurch) was groomsman. Mr. R. O’Cailaghan was usher at the church.

As the bridal party left- the church little Ann Dassler (niece) presented the bride with a satin horseshoe. Mr. and Mrs. Denbee entertained tlie guests later at the Empire Hotel, Mrs. Denbee wearing a model frock in prune shade, witli brown accessories. Mrs. Newman wore a lime frock and hat.

The bride travelled in a model frock in sunset, gold, with a musquash coat and accessories of black coffee colour. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Newman will live in Wellington.
