Wellington.—Overcast, with a moderate north-west breeze, and some intermittent rain Minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 43.5 degrees, maximum yesterday 51.2, and at 6 p.m. yesterday 48.5; barometer 1009.7 millibars. Palmerston North.—-A little sunshine but mainly cold and cloudy. Northerly wind. WangfHiui.—Fine, with sunshine and a light northerly breeze. Sea smooth. Barometer 1011.6 millibars. New Plymouth.—Showery and later heavy rain and cold northerly wind. Barometer at 5 p.m. 1007.3 millibars. Masterton.—A frost of 4.3 degrees was followed by a cold, overcast day with a moderate northerly wind. Napier and Hastings.—Cloudy and calm. Auckland.—A cloudy, tine morning, with a light to moderate northerly wind and heavy tdiowers in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 53 minimum 52 degrees. Barometer at 5 o'clock falling at 101.2 millibars. Dunedin. —The sky was overcast, and no sunshine was registered. Temperaturerf were mainly mild, the maximum being 51 degrees. The barometer was steady at 1016 millibars. Christchurch: The day was cold and overcast, with n light south-west breeze. There were occasional light showers of rain. The maximum temperature was 66.3 degrees. The barometer reading at 5 p.m. was 1009.1 millibars.
