GIFTS FOR SOLDIERS
Activity In Brooklyn The appeal made by the Wellington Patriotic Council for gift parcels which are to be sent overseas for the first and second echelons was discussed at a coinbiued meeting of the Brooklyn Patriotic Committee and the Brooklyn Municipal Electors’ Association, hold recently at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. -I. 1. Goldsmith. Dr. L. G. Austin presided. Arrangements were made to open re- , cciving depots at I lie Brooklyn School, the Vijgne Tneatre, and 'fill's Corner shop, the latter to lx.' open between 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. .Mr. Banish, of the Vogue Theatre, announced that he would be prepared to devote the proceeds of two nights’ screening at his theatre io the fund, and also offered the use of the theatre for announcing patriotic activities. Arrangements are reported Io be well in hand for a concert which is to be h"ld on Tuesday. July 2. at the Presbyterian Hall. Several donations were made al the meeting for the purchase of wool.
