FORT DORSET MEN ENTERTAINED

Members of the Fort Dorset Junior Association held their second dance for the soldiers at Fort Dorset in Seatoun on Saturday night. Officers of the fort were among the guests and there were about SO dancers present. The chaperons were Mrs. A. Wixon, -Mrs. Forbes and Mrs. A. Barr. Mr. Wixon was master of ceremonies. Two committee members, Misses Marion Chudley and Joan Kellaway, were in charge of supper arrangements, and the dance committee again supervised the evening’s entertainment.

An “animal” dance was held before supper, pairs of the same kind later silting together when supper was served.

I’irinoa Women’s Institute. The I’irinoa Women's Institute held its April meeting recently, Mrs. Spicer presiding over a large attendance. During the business of the afternoon, Mrs. Spicer and Mrs. Atkinson were elected as delegates to the Wairarapa Federation meeting to be held in Masterton on April 2|. .Miss Cook gave an interesting travel talk on her recent trip Ihronglj the Panama Canal. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. P. McDonald, soar. Mrs. MeLellend led the eoinmiiriily sing. The hostesses for the afternoon were .Mesdames Carter, Grey and Atkinson.
