Proposal To Avoid Overlapping The Wellington Harbour Board has proposed Io the Wellington Eire Board that it should pay £5OO a year for the use of the Tola's pumps in waterside tires. At yesterday’s meeting of the lire hoard the chairman, Mr. S. S. Dean, said that for £5OO a year they could set up decent pumping pkrnt of their own. The 'board’s proposal was to take over the control of the whole of the tirelighting services of city and port, in order to prevent overlapping and expense. The harbour board's reply to that imd been that everything in the way of lire-lighting equipment that it had purchased had been approved by the superintendent of the Wellington brigade. The chairman intimated that he would confer on the matter with the harbour board manager, Mr. A. G. Barnett.
