BAND CONTEST
The hymn test of the New Zealand centennial championship band contest will take place on the Basin Reserve, Wellington, next Sunday afternoon, the second time jsueli a test in New Zealand will have taken place on a Sunday. This event will open the contest, which will last, for a week.
Among the trophies which will be competed for are three special centennial cups for A. B and C grades; an A grade championship cup; a B grade championship challenge shield ; the B grade. Shardlow Memorial Challenge Shield; the McLeod Cup. for the band securing the most points in the hymn test; and the Bud Wills Memorial Challenge Shield, for the winner of the Bl> cornet solo. Tim chief judge for the contest will be Mr. F. Wright.
