The Auckland Historical Society is arranging to mark in a lilting manner ; tlie liundredtli anniversary of an important date in Auckland’s history, February 2-1. On that date 100 years ago Governor Hobson made his initial survey of tlie Waitemata Harbour. Tlie historical society plans to hold a liar-' hour excursion, under the direction of Mr. L. Phillips, to cover the area from North Head to Hobsonville. A lecturer j will accompany Hie party to give a commentary on the movements of Hobson’s I survey party
