PRESENTED TO KING AND QUEEN

AUCKLAND, February 10.
The honour of being presented to the King and Queen has been accorded to Gunner W. M. Armstrong, aged 25. Bayswater, according to cabled advice received by friends in Auckland. Gunner Armstrong also broadcast through the British Broadcasting Corporation. An R.N V.R. gunner who left New Zealand for England aboard a British merchant ship about three months ago. Gunner Armstrong was in all probability the New Zealand sailor mentioned in a cablegram last week as having spoken with Their Majesties at the Lord Mayor's reception nt the Mansion House. The yoi/ng man mentioned was described as a sailor who had recently arrived aboard a New Zealand meat ship Gunner Armstrong was educated nt the Auckland Grammar School and Auck’and University College. He was a prominent athlete in Auckland, being a member of the Auckland hockey team that defeated the Indians in 1938. In addition, he is a successful tenuis player, and took a prominent part in Y.M.C.A. activities in Auckland.
