CHORAL AND ORGAN RECITAL
A choral and organ recital arranged by the Y’ellingtou 'City Centennial Celebrations Committee was held in the lowu Hall last night. The choral items were given by the National Eucharistic .Congress Choir under the conductorship o£ Mr Maxwell Ferine and the organist was Mr. John Randal. Mrs. G. P. Aldridge was accompanist. The programme was as follows: - “Gloria” (Twelfth Mass) (Mozart); Prelude and Fugue in C Major (Bach) ; * A.ve Maria” (Arcadelt); "Unfold, Ye Tortals” (“KeJemption”) (Gounod) turne No. 5 in B Flat (John 1* ield), Meditation (“Thais") (Massenet); “Worthy is tlie Lamb’’ (“Messiah ) “Ave Verum” (Mozart) ; “Jubilee Deo (Mozart); Contemplation, Op. 174, No. 4 (Rheinberger) ; Allegretto, Op. 17, No. 2 (W-olstenholui); "Ecce Sacerdos (Elgar) ; ‘‘Et inenrnatus est” (in modal style); “Tu es Petreus” (in modal style) (Maxwell Fernie) ; Grand Choetir in E Flat (Cesar Franck); “Hallelujah (“Messiah”) (Handel); National Anthem.
