Ims been imide to ('iijitain J. A. McKenzie. of the Gloucester Regiment. t'.-iptain McKenzie has been awarded Hie Military Cross lor conspicuous daring and resource. The exploit for which Hie award Ims been made occurred (luring one of tlie night patrols which are now regular duty for British troops in the front line. Captain McKenzie led two of his men to a listening post in no-nian’s-land. He found there was a German patrol advancing, but Hie British post remained perfectly still, though they estimated Hint, the Germans were 20 strong, and allowed them to advance to within 10 yards before opening lire with a machine-gun.
