Uy Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 31. Approximately 21,000 head of sheep, including 12,000 store lambs, were torward at the Addington stock sale today. The entry was the largest this season. Prices for store lambs, which had been increasing over successive weeks, were easier today by a good 1/- a head. A few of the best lines made from 18/- to 20/- Four, six and eight-tooth Romney ewes sold at 28/10, and a good draft ot station four-year halfbreds at 21/-. iwo thousand five hundred fat lambs were penned and sold at the top of the export schedule and up to 9d. for butchers lots. The penning of fat sheep totalled 4<ao, and a good sale for the best sorts resulted. Best wethers made from 28/- to 31/-, with the tops to 33/-, and light down to 18/-, and best ewes from 24/- to 2b/-, with the tops to 29/-, and export ewes from 11/- to 16/-. Exporters were actively in the market for ewes and took a good proportion. , Fat cattle recovered on last week s decline of up to 20/- a head. Good steers sold at from £l6/10/- to £lB, with the tops at from £l9 to £l9/17/6, mediums £l3 to £l5/10/-, and light down to £B. Good heifers sold at. up to £l3, with the tops to £l4/12/6. and best cows averaged from £lO/10/- to £l4. A big proportion of the inferior lots sold at from £5 to £b. Fat pigs met with little change, pork averaging from '6Jd. to 7d. a lb., and bacon from 6}d. to 6Jd.
