START OF RECORD CUP RACE.—The field leaving the starting post in the Wellington Centennial Cup race at Trentham they total value of the prize, £3200, was a record, and the amount put through the totalizator, more than £17,000, also set a new standard. There were 26 starters, and as this picture shows they went away in a perfect line. The winner, Old Bill, is the horse running clear in the centre.
