WEDDING

Reeve —Dicker The Ingestre Street Baptist Church, Wanganui, was the scene of a charming wedding recently, when Joan Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Dicker, Kaliura, W.auganui River, was married to William Herbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Reeve, Konini, Pahiatua. The Rev. E. Nichols performed the ceremony. A classical frock of pearl slipper satin was worn by the bride, who was escorted by her father. The bodice was cut with a heart-shaped neckline, and long sleeves were fashioned high on the shoulders. The slim-fitting skirt flowed into a long train. A coronet of orange-blossom, held in place the embroidered tulle veil, and her bouquet was of Christmas lilies and pearl shaded stock. Miss Joan Hall (cousin of the bride), as bridesmaid, wore a frock of pink organza stencilled in pink and white, with a halo of miniature pink flowers. She carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas and stock. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. H. C. R. Reeve, of the First Echelon of tire Special Force. To receive the guests, Mrs. Dicker wore a frock of multi-coloured silk under a model coat of navy faille, with a navy hat. Mrs. Reeve was in au ensemble of navy cloque with hat to tone.

Later the bride travelled in a tailored frock of chartreuse green, with hat, fur and accessories of brown.

A usual method method for whitening discoloured lace is the following; Soak in thick whiting-water, a thin paste made with whiting (or whitening that is to say). Hang out to dry. Then wash quickly with soap and warm water and some of the whitening effect will remain. Iron on the wrong side when almost dry.
