The Rev. and Mrs. Owen Williams, Christ’s College, Christchurch, and their daughter have left for Napier to attend the wedding of their son, Mr, ,T. Williams, to Miss Helen Cameron on Tuesday.

The wedding of Miss Dorothy Davies, the well-known pianist, and Dr. R. A. Lochore, was quietly celebrated in Wellington last week.

Miss Carmel Smith, Prebbleton, Canterbury, will leave at the end of the week for a holiday in Wellington.

Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Smith, Wellington, and their children are the guests of Mrs. A. Smith, Prebbleton.

Miss Betty Webb, Christchurch, is visiting Mrs. Peter Reece, Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Coop and Miss-Patricia Coop, Kaituna, Canterbury are visiting the North Island.

Mr. and Mrsk-W. Carwell Cooke and family, who have been visiting their parents, and stayed at the home of Mrs. Duff, Wairarapa, have returned to Palmerston North. Miss Patsv Ashbolt has been chosen as the “Merchant Service Queen” iu the forthcoming Wellington Plunket Society’s queen carnival. Mrs,- J. T. Jamieson has left for Sydney. . Miss' Ray Butler, Winton, Otago, was a visitor to Wellington recently. Recipe For Tomato Pulp. Choose firm tomatoes. Place them in a basin of boiling water for three minutes. Remove skins. Cut into slices and place in a saucepan with 2 teaspoons salt and 2 teaspoons sugar to every Gib. tomatoes. Place on hotplate with the element switched to “high.” When it boils, switch down to “low,” and continue cooking till tomatoes are soft. Fill to overflowing in hot jars. Seal quickly, and invert jars to test sealing. Store when cold.
