Two Soldiers Convicted

A smash-and-grab raid by two soldiers ou the jewellery shop tof James Barr Lauchlan Ltd., Willis Street, was described in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, when two soldiers appeared before Mr. Stout. S.M. One was charged with committing mischief by wilfully damaging a plaleglass display window valued at £2O, and with tlie theft of a hairbrush worth 8/(1. The other was charged with stealing two hairbrushes and a leather case, two brooches, a fountain pen, three strings of pearls, a pencil and knife, two spoons, and two benzine cigarette lighters, of a total value of £6/6/-.
